A. Ludlow Case Letter 7 September 1869

Sir,
The Bureau is in receipt of the letter of the Inspector of Ordinance of the 6th instant, No 265, and closing report of the Civil Engineer on the condition of the Gunner’s House at Fort Norfolk.
The report is hereby approved, and the recommendation contained therein you will please have carried into effect, the cost of the repairs not to exceed the amount estimated $1276.96.
In this connection the Bureau desires to state that there is still available in the treasury under app “Magazine Norfolk” the sum of two hundred and forty four dollars and twenty eight cents ($244.28) being balance from appropriation for the years 1864, 65 and 66.
Please direct the Inspector of Ordinance to expand this amount in material for the above work, bills to be drawn payable from app “Magazine Norfolk”, the balance to be paid from app Ordinance.
