Civil War Day

June 18, 2017 Noon to 4 PM

Come to Fort Norfolk to learn about the fort's Civil War history. Fort Norfolk will have Civil War re-enactors portraying soldiers stationed at the fort. Re-enactors will be demonstrating the weapons of the time and explaining the history of the Civil War. The Norfolk Historic Society will be giving guided tours of the fort.

Help us celebrate the 203nd anniversary victory at the Battle of Craney Island on June 22, 1813. Fort Norfolk will have War of 1812 re-enactors portraying American forces stationed at the fort. Re-enactors will be demonstrating the weapons of the time and explaining the history of the War of 1812. The Norfolk Historic Society will be giving guided tours of the fort.

Star Spangled Banner Day

September 17, 2017 Noon to 4 PM

Help us celebrate the 203rd anniversary victory at the Battle of Baltimore on September 12-14, 1814. Fort Norfolk will have War of 1812 re-enactors portraying American forces stationed at the fort. Re-enactors will be demonstrating the weapons of the time and explaining the history of the War of 1812. The Norfolk Historic Society will be giving guided tours of the fort.

 

Visitor Information

Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM For Self Guided Tour. The self guided tour is only the outside of the buildings inside the fort. Free parking is available behind the guard house at the Entrance. Must show picture ID to gate guard at entrance building.

Norfolk Historic Society tours starting June 18 until September 24: Sunday Noon - 4:00 PM
