Commandant John D Sloat Letter 3 October 1850
 Commandants Office
Navy Yard Gosport
3rd Oct 1850
       Sir,
I was in error in stating in my letter to you of yesterday, that if authority was given me to order from the Smith 200,000 bricks, that number could be deleted that quantity named in the Schedule from this yard Vers 330,000.
The 200,000 will be in addition to the last award number, all of which will be required for the Magazine & Keeper's house at Fort Norfolk.
 I am Respectfully, Sir
       your obedient servant,
       John D Sloat
      Commandant
Comm Joseph Smith
Chief of the Burrow of Yards & Docks
