Thomas Newton, Junior, to the Governor June 10, 1794

Thomas Newton, Junior, to the Governor.
But little done at the forts yesterday, and today the same. Tomorrow I expect a large party and have hopes of soon compleating Fort Norfolk. I shall be down with them.
A vessel arrived from Barbados yesterday, who brings an acc't of all the American vessels at Martinique being condemned, because they (the owners) were bad men and Enemies to Great Brittain. This is what I have heard. I have letters but no news in them; 4,000 more Troops had arrived there, and the Cork and London fleets, I think they will be moving to the continent in the hurricane months, if they should succeed at St. Domingo, where some of the troops were destined.
I have heard nothing of the guns yet, either from Elk or the Colledge landing. I am, &c.
