Henry B. Etheridge

Henry Etheridge was born in Norfolk County, Va. on August 18, 1867.  The son of prominent and well known blacksmith and war hero from the Great Bridge area, Etheridge worked in Norfolk for many years as a farmer and a clerk.  He later was employed with the Albermarle & Chesapeake Canal Company where he served as an inspector and later collector.  In addition to his business interests, he was well known for his involvement in local Democratic politics.
